Lithuanian Language A1 (ONLINE)

Duration: 3 months (24 lessons)

This beginner-level Lithuanian language course (A1) is designed for adults who are just starting to learn Lithuanian and wish to communicate confidently in everyday situations. The program follows a structured and interactive approach, focusing on essential vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills.


Course objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Greet others, introduce themselves, and share basic personal information.

  • Ask and answer simple questions about daily life, family, food, directions, and work.

  • Understand and use basic grammatical structures, such as verb “to be,” cases, question forms, and prepositions.

  • Read short texts and write simple sentences or short paragraphs about familiar topics.

  • Take part in basic conversations in shops, cafés, and other everyday contexts.


Course content

The A1 level consists of 24 lessons, divided into six thematic modules:

  1. Let’s Meet! – Greetings, introductions, nationalities, and basic communication.

  2. How Are You? – Professions, addresses, numbers, and polite expressions.

  3. My Family – Talking about family members, describing people and relationships.

  4. How Delicious! – Food and drinks, making requests and offers, simple dialogues.

  5. Please Try! – Shopping, prices, quantities, comparisons, and practical activities.

  6. Go Straight Ahead! – Directions, city places, transport, and daily routines.


Each module includes speaking practice, grammar explanations, listening activities, and short writing exercises.


Assessment

At the end of the course, participants complete a short A1 level test (written and oral) to evaluate their progress and readiness for the next level (A2).
