Lithuanian Language Course – A2 Level
Duration: 3 months (24 lessons)
This A2-level Lithuanian course is designed for learners who already know the basics and want to communicate more freely in real-life situations. The program helps expand vocabulary, strengthen grammar, and build confidence in expressing opinions, describing experiences, and handling everyday tasks more independently.
Course objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe their home, surroundings, daily routine, work, and free-time activities.
Ask for information about prices, services, health, weather, transport, and events.
Express opinions, make comparisons, give compliments, and offer advice.
Communicate in simple dialogues: renting a flat, shopping for clothes, visiting a doctor, buying tickets, sending parcels, etc.
Understand and use key A2 grammar structures such as adjective declension, comparative forms, reflexive verbs, past and future tenses, and basic conditionals.
Write short descriptions, messages, simple reports, or short dialogues on familiar topics.
Participate in short conversations about personal experiences, plans, and daily life.
Course content
The A2 level consists of 24 lessons divided into six thematic modules:
1. Čia labai jauku! – Home and Living (Lessons 1–4)
Describing homes, rooms, furniture, locations, rental ads, and opinions about living spaces.Grammar focus: adjective declension, comparative forms, locative plural, question forms koks? kuris?, pronouns tas pats.Practical task: “My Dream Apartment” – description and presentation.
2. Šiandien saulėta – Weather, Clothing, and Style (Lessons 5–8)
Talking about weather, seasons, clothes, sizes, colours, and giving style advice.Grammar focus: present and past tense revision, prepositions su / be, commands and suggestions.Practical task: role-play “Style Consultant”.
3. Jaučiuosi puikiai – Health and Well-Being (Lessons 9–12)
Saying how you feel, talking about symptoms, registering for a doctor’s visit, describing appearance and age.Grammar focus: conditionals (jei skauda…), polite requests (gal galėtumėt…), diminutives, prefix nebe-.Practical task: “My Healthy Lifestyle” – poster and short talk.
4. Ką veiki šiandien? – Routine, Work, and Services (Lessons 13–16)
Daily routines, habits, professions, free time, banking and postal services.Grammar focus: reflexive verbs, past and future tense review, dative case, instrumental of means.Practical task: “My Day” – writing and speaking.
5. Kaip smagu! – Free Time, Trips, and Plans (Lessons 17–20)
Hobbies, events, tickets, weekend plans, duration and frequency.Grammar focus: verbs with suffixes -inėti, -(i)oti, time expressions (instrumental, locative, accusative), purpose genitive.Practical task: “My Weekend” – short text and dialogue.
6. Sveikinu! – Celebrations and Traditions (Lessons 21–24)
Holidays, traditions, invitations, greetings, polite communication in social situations.Grammar focus: present and past frequentative, conjunctions, purpose expressions. Final activities: review dialogues + final A2 test (oral and written) + self-assessment.
Assessment
At the end of the course, participants take a short A2-level test (speaking and writing). This helps measure progress and determines readiness for B1 level studies.
