Art in collaboration with seniors

Looking for a meaningful way to spend your school break? At our camp, kids will take part in creative workshops, play team games, and create stuff with seniors. It's a chance to experience creativity, friendship, and community.

For kids aged 8 to 11 years old

Dates: from 2025-11-03 to 2025-11-07

Location: VŠĮ Senjorų Avilys (J. Kubiliaus g. 2, Vilnius)

Price: 100 (including program, materials, and meals – 2 snacks and lunch)



PROGRAM

Day 1 – “Our Garden”

Theme: Children will work together to create a mini “garden” in a large transparent container, decorating it with clay animals and other elements.

8:00–9:00 Arrival and registration

9:00–10:15 Icebreaker games and group activities

10:15–10:30 Breakfast

10:30–11:00 Introduction to the theme of the day and planning the “garden”

11:00–12:00 Clay workshop with seniors from the apiary

Children will create clay animal sculptures together with seniors.

12:00–12:30 Outdoor activities

12:30–13:00 Lunch

13:00–13:30 Creating and planning the “mini garden”

13:30–15:00 Workshop: making decorative elements for the garden (trees, benches, houses, etc.)

15:00–15:15 Afternoon snack

15:15–16:00 Painting clay figures

16:00–17:00 Quiet activities / Children pick-up


Day 2 – “Stories”

Theme: Children will work closely with seniors to create and illustrate stories.

8:00–9:00 Arrival

9:00–9:30 Morning exercises

9:30–10:00 Introduction to the theme of the day: “Stories”

10:00–10:30 Storybook-making workshop

10:30–10:45 Breakfast

10:45–11:30 Seniors’ storytelling

Children will listen to stories told by seniors and illustrate them in their handmade storybooks.

11:30–12:00 Story illustration

12:00–12:30 Outdoor activities (temporary art installations or mandalas)

12:30–13:00 Lunch

13:00–13:30 Presentation: “Stories of Things” (about recycling, possibly with a guest speaker)

13:30–15:00 Stop-motion film workshop: “Sorting and Recycling”

15:00–15:15 Afternoon snack

15:15–16:00 Workshop using recycled materials

16:00–17:00 Quiet activities / Children pick-up


Day 3 – “Handicrafts”

Theme: Children will engage in various handicraft activities together with seniors.

8:00–9:00 Arrival

9:30–9:45 Introduction to the theme of the day: “Handicrafts”

9:45–10:45 Braiding bracelets (gifts for seniors)

10:45–11:00 Breakfast

11:00–12:00 Workshops led by seniors (e.g., knitting)

12:00–12:30 Outdoor activities

12:30–13:00 Lunch

13:00–14:00 Autumn lantern workshop (using glue, balloons, and thread)

14:00–15:00 Wreath decoration workshop

15:00–15:15 Afternoon snack

15:15–16:00 Mosaic-making (using beans and other materials)

16:00–17:00 Quiet activities / Children pick-up


Day 4 – “Autumn Treasures”

Theme: Exploring and creating with the gifts of autumn.

8:00–9:00 Arrival

9:00–9:30 Morning exercises and games

9:30–10:00 Introduction to the theme of the day: “Autumn Treasures”

10:00–10:45 Seniors introduce children to mushrooms and other autumn goods; children create an “Autumn Treasures Book”

10:45–11:00 Breakfast

11:00–11:30 Outdoor game: “Autumn Bingo”

Children search for leaves and other items around the seniors’ apiary based on their bingo cards.

11:30–12:00 Warm cocoa break

12:00–12:30 Lunch

12:30–13:00 Decorating flower pots

13:00–13:30 Planting a flower or herb

13:30–15:00 Movie with popcorn

15:00–15:15 Afternoon snack

15:15–16:00 Quiz game (with prizes)

16:00–17:00 Quiet activities / Children pick-up


Day 5 – “What Comes After Autumn?”

Theme: Reflection and looking forward to winter.

8:00–9:00 Arrival

9:00–9:30 Morning exercises and games

9:30–9:45 Introduction to the theme of the day

9:45–10:45 Flower pot decorating workshop

10:45–11:00 Breakfast

11:00–11:30 Workshop: Lithuanian flag and leaf art

Children will cut cardboard, glue on paper circles (“bubbles”), and color them.

11:30–12:00 Outdoor activities

12:00–12:30 Lunch

12:30–13:30 Workshops led by seniors (e.g., knitting)

13:30–14:15 “Autumn Tree” workshop

Children build and decorate an autumn tree with leaves and branches found outdoors (using an umbrella as the base).

14:15–15:00 Pumpkin decoration workshop

15:00–15:15 Afternoon snack

15:15–15:30 “Farewell Leaves” reflection

Children write what they liked and disliked about the camp on paper leaves and hang them on the tree they made.

15:30–16:30 “Courage Evening” (children reach into boxes with hidden items to guess what’s inside)

16:30–17:00 Quiet activities / Children pick-up

17:00–18:00 Dinner
