Main aim: empowering women on parental leave through new skills development and enhancing their employment prospects

Objectives:

  1. To enhance the skills and knowledge of 40 women on parental leave in European countries, with a focus on supporting their career development through local trainings.

  2. To support quality improvement and innovation in adults’ education work with the help of international training and creation of tangible outputs.

  3. To increase awareness among the women on parental leave about lifelong learning and various available options available for continuing their education and training.

  4. To provide women on parental leave with access to a range of learning and skills development options and resources by creating a specialized website based on this project.

  5. To disseminate the project, its outcomes, and outputs through multiplier events in each partner country.

  6. To contribute to the broader goals of the Erasmus+ program, which includes the promotion of gender equality, lifelong learning, and active participation in the labor market.

 

Activities:

  1. Kick-off meeting in Portugal - sharing responsibilities, setting the deadlines, planning an international workshop in Sweden, and deciding the structure and the content of the website. It is important to have the 1st meeting face to face to meet the partners, share responsibilities, and set the deadlines. (2 participants per country)

  2. International training in Sweden (3 adult workers per country). The aim is to train adult educators so they will be equipped with new skills and methods for the implementation of local trainings. Each partner will train adult educators on their possessed experience of best practices.

  3. Midterm meeting ONLINE – evaluating training in Sweden, checking in with the output creation, planning local trainings, deciding the format and the length of the training videos.

  4. Local trainings in each partner country (10 women on parental leave per country)

  5. Tangible Outputs creation:

    1. A website with 20 training video series focused on different skills development. All four partner organizations will be responsible for the coverage of different topics, based on their expertise areas and experience. In order to maintain cost efficiency, the website will be created using open-source platforms, such as WordPress, Weebly, etc. After the end of the project, its maintenance expenses will be covered by partner organizations.

    2. A guide with formal and non-formal education opportunities both in partner countries and abroad to develop new skills online free of charge or at a very small fee. This guide will be published via the ‘Edumom’ project’s website and distributed using both digital (email, social network, partner websites) and physical (e. g. printed handouts) tools.

    3. A list of digital tools for completing various tasks online such as video creation, photo edition, social media distribution, etc. (e. g. repurpose.io, Canva) which will also be available to reach by using the project’s website, various digital sources, or physical tools.

  6. The final meeting ONLINE - evaluating project results and outputs, discussing the dissemination activities during and after the project period.

  7. Dissemination, multiplier events in each partner country, and peer-to-peer activities

 

Results:

  1. A website with 20 training video series on different skills development: (PORTUGAL)

    • Sweden will be responsible for these topics: fake news, media literacy

    • Lithuania will be responsible for these topics: personal and professional skills, CV preparation, Microsoft Office Skills

    • Turkey will be responsible for these topics: photography, entrepreneurial attitude, soft skills, and cognitive skills.

    • Portugal will be responsible for these topics: language training, video editing, social media marketing, and financial literacy.

  2. A guide with formal and non-formal education opportunities in partner countries and abroad to develop new skills ONLINE free of charge or at a very small fee

  3. A digital list of tools to do some work online such as making videos, editing photos, and writing essays (e. g. repurpose.io, Canva)

  4. Improved digital skills of women on parental leave during the international and local trainings.

  5. Increased awareness among the women on parental leave about lifelong learning and various available options for continuing their education and training and provided with access to the range of learning and skills development options and resources by creating a specialized website based on this project.

  6. Through the multiplier events, dissemination of the project in each country, reaching at least 8 new organizations and 60 mothers on parental leave, who are not directly involved in the project.


This project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program, supporting education, training, youth, and sports initiatives across Europe.
