Playing Together For a Better Tomorrow

Main aim: to promote social inclusion of war refugees through sports activities.

Objectives:

1. To provide a safe and welcoming environment for refugees to engage in physical and social activities though the international sports camp for youth workers and young refugees in Turkey.

2. To train youth workers working with refugees to break down barriers and stereotypes between refugees and host communities.

3. To build strong, positive relationships between refugees and local communities through shared interests and experiences.

4. To create a tangible output – comic strips to raise awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and the importance of social inclusion and integration.

Activities:

1. Kick-off meeting in Lithuania.

2. International workshop in Bulgaria for youth workers.

3. Midterm meeting ONLINE.

4. International sports camp for youth workers and young refugees in Turkey.

5. The final meeting ONLINE - evaluating project results and outputs, and discussing the dissemination activities during and after the project period.

6. Dissemination, multiplier events in each partner country, and peer-to-peer activities.

Results:

1. Increased social involvement of war refugees and improved relationships and understanding between refugees and local communities.

2. Increased physical and mental well-being of refugees through sports and physical activity.

3. Increased opportunities for refugees to form positive relationships, build networks, and access support

4. Increased awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by refugees, and the importance of social inclusion and integration.

5. Through the multiplier events reached at least 6 new organizations that are not directly involved in the project.

8. International sport camp for youth workers and young refugees in Turkey.

This project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program, supporting education, training, youth, and sports initiatives across Europe.
